The Director, People & Culture is a values-driven executive that leads the full P&C function for Ramudden Global's Canadian operations. This is the senior most HR role in Canada — a chance to shape culture, build capability, and influence the future of a rapidly growing, safety critical business.

The Director, People & Culture, partners closely with the Canadian President, Canadian operational leaders, and the global P&C community to build a scalable, modern, people first function that supports operational excellence and business growth.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Organizational Development

• Serve as a key member of the North American leadership team, shaping long term workforce and organizational strategy.

• Translate business goals into people strategies that drive growth, capability, and cultural alignment.

• Lead organizational design, restructuring, succession planning, and leadership capability building.

• Ensure alignment with Ramudden Global’s values, frameworks, and global P&C initiatives.


Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

• Oversee national recruitment for field and corporate roles in competitive labour markets.

• Build scalable hiring processes that support seasonal demand, regional expansion, and safety critical roles.

• Partner with operations to forecast workforce needs and develop proactive staffing models.


Culture, Engagement & Leadership Development

• Champion a culture rooted in safety, accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

• Build leadership development programs for supervisors, managers, and emerging leaders.

• Lead engagement strategies, surveys, and culture building initiatives.

• Strengthen internal communication across a geographically dispersed workforce.


Employee Relations & Compliance

• Serve as the senior advisor on Canadian employment law, investigations, and risk mitigation.

• Oversee employee relations to ensure fair, consistent, and compliant practices.

• Ensure compliance with provincial employment standards, health & safety legislation, and global policies.

• Maintain a visible, trusted P&C presence across field operations.


Total Rewards & HR Operations

• Lead compensation, benefits, and performance management strategies.

• Align Canadian programs with global frameworks while ensuring market competitiveness.

• Oversee HR systems, data integrity, analytics, and reporting.

• Drive process improvement and standardization across HR operations.


Health, Safety & Well Being

• Partner with HSE leadership to reinforce a safety first culture.

• Integrate mental health, well being, and safety initiatives into the people strategy.

• Support safety training, compliance, and behavioural reinforcement.


Labour Relations & Unionized Workforce Management

• Lead collective bargaining, grievance management, and contract interpretation.

• Ensure consistent application of collective agreements across regions.

• Build strong relationships with union partners and support dispute resolution.


Training & Development

• Oversee national training strategies for field and corporate teams.

• Lead skills development, compliance training, leadership pathways, and continuous learning.

• Evaluate training effectiveness and drive improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).

• CHRP/CHRL/CHRE designation is required.

• 12+ years of progressive HR leadership, including 5+ years in a senior or executive role.

• Experience in construction, infrastructure, utilities, transportation, or other field based, safety critical sectors.

• Proven ability to build and scale HR functions in high growth or multisite environments.

• Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation across multiple provinces.

• Expertise in organizational design, change management, and leadership development.

• Experience in mergers and acquisitions would be an asset.

• Strong analytical capability and experience using HR metrics to drive decisions.

• Exceptional communication, relationship building, and influencing skills to champion HR at the senior leadership table across diverse business units.

• A values driven leadership style grounded in integrity, accountability, and respect.

• Comfort working closely with field operations and navigating ambiguity.
